About Me

My love of paper and all things stationery began at the ripe old age of 8. Opening my first tin of Derwent pencils was and still is a great joy. Even now, whenever I buy a new sort of anything, I find myself an eight year old, taking a great big sniff.  Oh that smell takes me back. Back to a time, where there was time. Hours andhours spent creating. Drawing. Imagining.

le petit moineau was born from this love and joy that creating gives me.

In 2010 our daughter, Emily, was stillborn at 36 weeks. This life changing event was to reshape our family and my journey, not only as a mumma but also as a learner and educator.

So you could say that le petit moineau was created from a set of circumstances out of my control. I turned to my love of paper and stationery. I found some solace in my grief. It became my hope. My healing place. My safe place.
